NEW YORK — The New York Times reports a fifth investigation into possible corruption in Mayor Eric Adams’ administration.

The published report says the Manhattan district attorney’s office opened the investigation involving the mayor’s chief adviser, Ingrid Lewis-Martin, and four others.

The new investigation reportedly concerns the city’s leasing of commercial real estate.

At the end of September, Lewis-Martin’s mobile phone was confiscated when she landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport after a trip to Japan and her East Flatbush home was searched.

In a statement, Lewis-Martin’s lawyer called the searches unwarranted and said: “In due time, all the facts will come to light and be supported by evidence showing that everything was done properly.”
