Method, a manufacturer of eco-friendly cleaning and care products, has announced that all of its clear plastic bottles are now made from 100% recycled plastic from coastal areas.
This initiative is part of a partnership with SC Johnson and Plastic Bank.
In the US and Canada, consumers can purchase Method’s range of products, including hand wash gel, foaming hand wash and dish soap, all packaged in these sustainable bottles.
Method’s commitment to using recycled coastal plastics started in 2012 with limited edition soap bottles and has since expanded to a wider range of products.
SC Johnson’s partnership with Plastic Bank since 2018 has led to the establishment of more than 550 plastic collection points in countries including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Brazil.
Thanks to this partnership, the equivalent of three billion bottles has been recovered to date.

Method is also focused on designing products that reduce plastic consumption by offering an all-purpose cleaner and foaming hand wash in reusable aluminum bottles, supplemented with recyclable glass concentrate refills.
This has reportedly helped reduce plastic use by 96% compared to traditional disposable bottles.
