MINNEAPOLIS— Tuesday is your last chance to have your say on what Minneapolis city leaders should do in the case of a man who allegedly shot his neighbor just steps from his front door.

The city council meets at 1:30 p.m., which is also the deadline to get your ideas to the city.

The council has already agreed to a request for the city auditor to conduct an independent investigation recordings by Davis Moturi.

About two and a half weeks have passed since Moturi was shot while working in the yard outside his home. His neighbor, John Sawchak, was arrested and charged with four counts: attempted murder in the second degree, first-degree assault with intent to cause great bodily harm, stalking and intimidation.

Some community leaders have also demanded an independent third-party investigation. They also want the city to pay Moturi’s medical bills and for Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara to be fired.

The city auditor’s review is expected to be completed in June.

If you would like to submit your ideas, you can do so on the city’s website.
