The Sea Girt Police Department investigates car and home burglaries

SEA GIRT – Police are urging residents to be vigilant after two motor vehicle burglaries and home burglaries that occurred on the night of December 21-22.

The incidents occurred at Washington Boulevard and Crescent Parkway, police said. They are being investigated by the State Police Detective Bureau, along with the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wall Township Police Department.

Police are asking residents to view CCTV footage from 10pm on December 21 to 5am on December 22 in the city. If you find suspicious images, please share them with police by emailing zsherman@seagirtpd.com.

Police are calling on residents to lock their cars and not leave keys inside. Do not leave valuables visible in your vehicle. Park your car in the garage if possible.

Make sure all doors and windows are closed before leaving your home or going to bed. Set your alarm system every night if you have one.
