PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – This weekend is going to be a hot one, Philly! While many head to the coast to beat the heat, there’s no need to FOMO if you’re not driving south as the Philadelphia region will be buzzing with events and festivals you won’t want to miss this weekend.
Celebrate Juneteenth a few days early at the 2024 Philadelphia Juneteenth Festival in Germantown, or at Penn Museum’s inaugural Juneteenth Festival, or even across the bridge in New Jersey at Willingboro Township’s 4th annual Juneteenth Festival.
This weekend you can also enjoy bottomless sangria samples at SangriaFest in Upper Macungie, enjoy brunch and a “Glee” style drag show, or even visit the world’s largest pickle party in South Philly.

Pride in the Park: Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ Field Day
Philadelphia is celebrating Pride in a summery way this weekend during Fairmount Park Conservancy’s first-ever Pride in the Park: Philly LGBTQ+ Field Day! If you’re missing the nostalgia of your high school or college days, you’re in for a treat with this eventful and competitive lineup featuring games like tug-of-war, cornhole, slip-n-slide, relay racing and more.
There is also no experience level required to participate! The only goal is to have fun and be friendly. The event starts at 9am on Saturday at the John Welsh Memorial Fountain and ends at 2.15pm with a closing ceremony and awards ceremony. Tickets range between $10 and $15 for entry.
The Franklin Institute’s 12th Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance
Celebrate Father’s Day with your loved ones The Franklin Institute for the 12th Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance and dinner on Sundays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The event is hosted by Daddy University, a parenting education school that offers free and low-cost fatherhood classes to men in Philadelphia. The event has no age limit and is not limited to biological fathers. Tickets for the annual event start at $72.
SangriaFest Upper Macungie
Sipping sangria in a park on a sunny Saturday? Say less, we’re here! SangriaFest Upper Macungie is back at Grange Park for another year this Saturday. Grab a drink, enjoy some music, play a game or two and most importantly, have fun in the sun! Tickets for this 21+ event range from $15-$44. Premium admission ticket holders can start sipping at 3 p.m., while general admission opens at 4 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m.
The World’s Largest Pickle Festival 2024
The World’s Largest Pickle Party 2024 is coming to Xfinity Live this weekend and it’s sure to be a big dill! This year’s celebration includes 75 vendors, an assortment of food trucks, mascots, outdoor games and kid zone activities with exclusive pickle party events such as the Brine Chug Challenge and the World Pickle Eating Championship.
And what kind of pickle party is complete without America’s most popular sport, pickleball? Catch it all this Saturday at Xfinity Live from noon to 7 p.m. Tickets are not sold at the door, so you will want to secure your tickets in advance.

Big Wig Glee Brunch at Punch Line Philly
Calling all Gleeks! Punch Line Philly’s weekly drag brunch takes a trip down memory lane this Saturday with an unforgettable soundtrack. Philadelphia Juneteenth Festival
Celebrate Juneteenth this weekend at the historic Johnson House in Germantown. The annual Juneteenth Festival promises an afternoon and evening of community festivities and incredible live performances, while celebrating 405 years of resilience.
The event is free to the public and starts at noon on Saturday at the 6300 block of Germantown Ave and runs until 7 p.m.

The whole family is invited to the festival full of live performances, DJ sets, storytelling and hands-on activities for all ages. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required, and the family can support local food trucks and Black-owned businesses. Tickets are free for Penn faculty, staff and students, museum members and children 5 and under. Tickets cost $13 for children ages 6 to 17 and students, $16 for seniors and $18 for adults.
