Third suspect charged in fatal shooting that Green Bay police say started as a drug deal

GREEN BAY – A third suspect has been charged in the August fatal shooting of 21-year-old Brandon Ramirez.

Darian Pinchart, 18, of Green Bay is the third person formally charged in the case, although criminal complaints and Brown County jail records show a fourth suspect is in custody in connection with the killing. Dion Richardson, 18, and Elijah White, 18, were charged in early October.

All three teens were charged with first-degree intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon as a party to a crime. Richardson and White were also charged with resisting or obstructing an officer. Pinchart faces additional charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a firearm as a juvenile delinquent for a felony.

Ramirez died of a gunshot wound to the head on August 9, two days after police were notified. Ramirez was dropped off at a hospital following a shooting that they later determined happened in the 1200 block of Berner Street. Criminal complaints indicate the shooting occurred during a drug deal that turned into an attempted robbery.

The complaints showed that the suspects gave varying stories about the incident in interviews with investigators. According to a complaint, footage from the interview room showed Pinchart talking out loud to himself while he was alone in the room. He stated several times that he did nothing and that he was blamed for something someone else did, the complaint said.

According to the complaint, the video also features Pinchart saying, “I’m not a crazy person, I’m not, I don’t come in (here) like my crazy (expletive deleted), crazy (expletive deleted) old friends who decided they wanted someone wanted to kill me and blame me.”

Pinchart made his initial appearance Friday and is being held in the Brown County Jail on $650,000 bail. Richardson and White are also being held in the Brown County Jail on bail of $1 million and $750,000, respectively.
