More large hail, damaging winds and flash flooding are possible Monday after another line of storms hit Dallas-Fort Worth, according to the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth.
North Texans have seen storms almost every day for the past week. An EF-3 tornado with maximum winds of 140 mph touched down in Denton and Cooke counties over Memorial Day weekend. A series of storms last week knocked out power to more than 600,000 people in the region.
Strong to severe storms are likely in the afternoon and evening hours on Monday, said Juan Hernandez, meteorologist with the NWS office in Fort Worth.
The NWS forecast has us arriving at the Metroplex between 12pm and 3pm. Another round of storms is possible around midnight tonight, Hernandez said.
The main threats for Monday’s storms are large hail, damaging winds and flash flooding.

After Monday, North Texas could potentially see another round of storms late Tuesday into early Wednesday, Hernandez said.
As a result of last week’s storms, much of North Texas is saturated and reservoirs are full. This brings an increase in potential localized flash flooding to the Metroplex, Hernandez said.
It is important that motorists remain alert when driving through storms and never drive on a road with water flowing over it.
“Turn around and don’t drown,” Hernandez said.
