Three people arrested on South Side after carjacking in Hill District

Three people are in custody after a carjacking in the Hill District.

Police say they received reports of an armed carjacking at the intersection of Crawford Street and Center Avenue on Saturday at 8:05 p.m. The people who stole the car escaped unscathed and the driver was unharmed.

Officers say they spotted the stolen vehicle on the South Side around 8:35 p.m

Multiple police cars were able to pull the vehicle onto East Carson Street between 23rd and 24th streets.

There were three men in the vehicle and all were arrested without incident. According to police, the victim was able to positively identify them.

Officers say they saw weapons in the car and are in the process of obtaining a search warrant.
