HARVEY, Ill. (CBS) — Three people were killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving a car and a freight train in the southern suburb of Harvey.
The accident happened on the tracks near 153rd Street and Park Avenue. CBS News Chicago has learned the car went around the cross gate and crashed into the side of a CSX locomotive.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that three people died in the incident.
No one on the train was injured.
