Israeli police and the Shin Bet domestic intelligence service have arrested three people suspected of firing flares at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private home, local media reported on Sunday.
A court ordered that the suspects be held in custody for five days pending the ongoing investigation into Saturday’s incident, the Times of Israel and ynet reported.
The suspects were described as leading members of the anti-government protest movement.
Netanyahu and his family were not at home and no damage was caused to the home in the city of Caesarea.
Critics accuse the prime minister of failing to take personal responsibility for the political and military mistakes on October 7, 2023, when Hamas fighters flooded the border from Gaza in a coordinated attack.
Netanyahu also faces a long-running corruption trial, and critics say he is prolonging wars in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon to stay in power.
