Three suspects arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing in Pleasant Hill in February

Police in Pleasant Hill arrested three suspects Friday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a custodian who was killed last February after working his shift in Pleasant Hill Park.

37-year-old Santiago Jacobo from Pittsburg was found with stab wounds in the early morning of February 10, 2024when he was found unresponsive and unresponsive by his wife in the parking lot of 147 Gregory Lane.

Police and medical personnel arrived on the scene and determined that Jacobo had died. He was a member of the cleaning staff who had worked late the night before at Pleasant Hill Park.

Jacobo became concerned when he didn’t return home after his shift and went to the park, where she found him unresponsive and called 911. left the Pleasant Hill community shocked.

According to a press release issued by the Pleasanton Police Department Friday afternoon, detectives obtained evidence and identified the victim during a three-month investigation into the murder. Three identified suspects knew each other from working together at The Watermark in San Ramon, an assisted organization. residential facility.

The police were able to arrest the three suspects on Friday. Authorities identified the suspects as 31-year-old Concord resident Pablo Gutierrez-Morales, 24-year-old Antioch resident Vanessa Vera-Aguilar and 25-year-old Antioch resident Jazmin Ruiz. All three were booked into the Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Detectives determined that he had been in a relationship with suspect Vera-Aguilar prior to Jacobo’s murder, while a second suspect, Gutierrez-Morales, pursued a new relationship with her. The evidence shows that the arrested suspects planned, coordinated and executed the attack on Jacobo after he finished his shift at Pleasant Hill Park.
