Three male teenagers were arrested Sunday and are facing firearms and property crimes, Boston police announced.
The incident occurred near Grove Hall on Blue Hill Avenue. Officers saw two scooters driving at very high speed. The front scooter had a driver and passenger, and the rear motorcycle had only a driver, and neither person was wearing a helmet. Officers were following the scooters when they saw one of the individuals walking down Edgewood Street. Officers arrested the man in handcuffs.
While officers were advising the individual of the traffic violations he had committed, the second individual drove the wrong way on Edgewood Street, struck the officer’s car and attempted to flee. Officers were able to arrest the suspect.
The passenger of the bicycle had fled towards Blue Hill Avenue. Officers gave chase on foot and noticed that the man had discarded a ghost gun under a car. Officers were able to arrest the person.
Officers examined the scooters and noticed that the ignitions had been modified to be used without keys and that neither scooter had a registration stick or proof of ownership.
The person with a gun, a 15 year old male, was arrested and charged as a delinquent, namely; Carry a firearm without a permit, delinquent, to wit; Possession of ammunition without FID card, delinquent namely; Carry a loaded firearm, delinquent, to wit; Possession of a large capacity firearm, and delinquent, to wit; Burglary.
The other two persons, 15 and 16 year old males, were arrested and charged as delinquent, namely; Receive stolen property.
All three teens are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
