Thurston County deputies arrest man after chase in Lacey

A man is arrested after leading officers on a chase down Lacey’s street.

On Sunday, officers with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office tried to pull over an SUV without a front license plate, but the SUV refused to stop.

Officers chased the SUV through south Lacey to Yelm Highway.

A precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver was attempted, but the suspect continued to flee, officers said.

The SUV drove into the Summer neighborhood, crashed onto the lawn and attempted to drive the wrong way before officers forced the vehicle to stop.

According to officers, the driver fled on foot, but was apprehended after a short foot chase and the passenger remained in the vehicle.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the SUV and found drug paraphernalia, suspected stolen mail and materials used in shoplifting.

The driver was arrested for narcotics under the influence, eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.
