Tickets for the Blackhawks-Blues 2024 Winter Classic tickets going on sale next month originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The NHL announced that tickets for the 2024 Winter Classic between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues will go on sale to the public next month.
In February, the Blackhawks announced they will host the franchise’s seventh outdoor game at the iconic Wrigley Field. The game marks the second time the Blackhawks have hosted the Winter Classic at Wrigley.
This will also be the second Winter Classic matchup between the Blackhawks and Blues. The first time was in 2017 at St. Louis’ Busch Stadium, and the Blues won that game.
According to the league, tickets will go on sale Friday, June 14 at 10 a.m. Fans can sign up for alerts via the Blackhawks website.
Although the game is usually played on New Year’s Day, the NHL has announced that the game will not be played on the usual New Year’s Day. In April, it was announced that the game will take place on December 31, 2024, with puck drop at 4:00 PM Central Time.
The Blackhawks have played six major league outdoor games, with a record of 1-5. Their only win came in the 2014 Stadium Series game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Soldier Field. In addition to their loss at Busch Stadium to the Blues, they have also posted losses at Wrigley Field (2009), Nationals Park (2015), TCF Bank Stadium (2016) and Notre Dame Stadium (2019).
The NHL will also host an outdoor game at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, with the Red Wings and Blue Jackets competing at the home of the Ohio State University football team.
