Detectives continue to ask the public for help in solving the case of murdered Salina’s teen, Adrian Puga, who was shot during a car show on Nov. 9 in the North Monterey County community of Prunedale.
“The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office informs the public that no arrests have been made in the Prunedale homicide case,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. “Although there is talk on social media about another arrest, that case has nothing to do with our murder investigation.”
Puga’s family has set up a GoFundMe to seek donations for funeral arrangements for the North Salinas High School graduate.
“It is a tragic loss for our entire family,” wrote Michelle Puga, Adrian’s sister. “We are asking for any donation to help us lay our brother to rest; we appreciate any help in advance.”
Murder investigation: Salina’s teenager was shot dead during a weekend show in Prunedale
On Saturday, November 9 at approximately 10:25 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Prunedale Road South and Blackie Road.
Neighbors say the area has become a popular place for young people to hold sideshows and make donuts in recent years, with the frequency increasing in recent weeks before the fatal shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Puga suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Puga was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Video of the incident has been circulating on social media and Monterey County Sheriff’s detectives continue to ask the public to contact them with any information, video or photos the public may have of the Prunedale afterthought.
“We encourage anyone with information to come forward as we continue our efforts to locate those responsible for the tragic death of Adrian Puga,” sheriff’s officials said.
