A deadly tornado reportedly touched down in New York on Sunday afternoon as dangerous storms tore through the northeastern United States.

According to published reports, the twister, which has not yet been confirmed by the National Weather Service, killed one person at a campground popular with tourists in the Hudson Valley.

The unconfirmed twister reportedly spun through the Russell Brook Campground in the town of Roscoe.

Deadly tornado in Delaware County

The reported tornado caused damage in the Roscoe area of ​​Delaware County.

The Eastern Dutchess County Fire Department reported in a Facebook post just after 12:00 p.m. Sunday that emergency responders were dispatched to a multi-casualty incident at the Russell Brook Campground after reports of multiple people trapped in cabins and at least one death.

“Tornado landing,” part of the message read.
