VERO BEACH − A crash involving a car and a Brightline passenger train damaged the front of the sedan, but the driver reported no injuries to first responders, police and fire officials said.
The crash occurred just after 10 a.m. at an intersection in downtown Vero Beach, just west of Commerce Avenue at 20th Place and 20th Street, according to Vero Beach police and Indian River County Fire Rescue officials.

The BMW car suffered front-end damage after it was “clipped by the train,” Assistant Fire Chief Bill Herrington said. The only occupant of the car was the driver, who was described as a woman who refused medical treatment, Herrington said.
In a social media post around 10:30 a.m., Vero Beach police urged drivers to avoid the area.
The car had been removed from the crash site and the roadway was open shortly after 11am
