Travis Kelce Buys Stock in a Racehorse That Obviously Has a Taylor Swift Themed Name

Travis Kelce has joined the ownership group of a new racehorse.

Of course, this also includes a perfect Taylor Swift reference.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has purchased a significant ownership stake in Swift Delivery, a 3-year-old gelding, Team Valor International founder Barry Irwin announced Tuesday.

Although the horse is not named after Swift, Irwin said it was “total coincidence” the name fits perfectly.

Kelce’s brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, also found it quite funny.

“It’s very exciting,” Irwin told The Associated Press. “I met him at the Kentucky Derby and spent some time with him and stuff, and we talked about horses and everything. When this horse showed up and it was already owned by one of my partners, by name, I thought this was a no-brainer.”

No details are known about Kelce’s ownership interest in the horse, although he has been a co-owner for about a month.

Kelce and Swift have been dating for nearly a year, and their relationship took the NFL world by storm last season during the Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl run. Kelce has been spotted at several of her concerts during “The Eras Tour” and even made a brief appearance onstage during a show at London’s Wembley Stadium in June.

The move to acquire Swift Delivery was the last major one Kelce made this season. He signed a new deal with Amazon’s Wondery to distribute his podcast with his brother, worth more than $100 million over the next three years. He also secured a spot in the upcoming “Happy Gilmore” sequel, appeared in the FX horror series “Grotesquerie,” hosted the game show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” and more.

Swift Delivery has won his last two starts and is set to race Saturday at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto. His latest run of victories came after he failed to finish better than third in six straight starts.

“He’s a horse we always thought highly of, and he just didn’t perform — and now he is,” trainer Mark Casse said, via The Associated Press. “This horse is good. He’s good now, and he has the potential to go on and do great things.”

Kelce and the Chiefs open their season on September 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.
