Treasure Valley high school bands compete at Boise State’s annual District III festival

More than two dozen Treasure Valley high school bands competed in five classifications Saturday during the annual Idaho District III Mel Shelton Marching Band Festival on the blue lawn of Albertsons Stadium on Boise State’s campus.

Eagle High School won the top prize and took first place overall in the Sweepstakes category, and Timberline received the Mel Shelton Overall Music Award.

Timberline also finished first overall in the Large Open standings, with Ridgevue second and Centennial third.

Mountain View finished first in the Medium Open standings, with Rocky Mountain second and Owyhee third.

Eagle finished first overall in the Small Open standings, with Columbia second and Capital third.
