Troopers are investigating after a fatal crash Wednesday in Lake County.
According to a report, Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of the accident at approximately 1:47 p.m.
Early evidence showed a semi-truck traveling eastbound on SR-44 where it lost control in an attempt to slow down for a vehicle in front of it.

The trailer attached to the semi veered onto the westbound roadway and collided with a 2014 Nissan Sentra traveling west on SR-44, according to FHP.
The impact diverted the Sentra into the eastbound lane into the direct path of a 2018 Ford F-450, striking it head-on.
The driver of the truck continued eastbound and did not remain at the scene, according to police.

The driver of the Sentra was airlifted to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford F-450 was not transported and remained at the scene while the occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
