Tropical Atlantic comes to life; Beryl remains a very dangerous Category 4 hurricane as Tropical Storm Chris forms off the Mexican coast

Beryl is expected to remain an extremely dangerous major hurricane. Potentially catastrophic hurricane-force winds, a life-threatening storm surge and damaging waves are expected as Beryl passes parts of the Windward Islands

Maritime warnings are in effect for the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean/SW Atlantic

Heavy rainfall due to tropical storm Chris

From the National Weather Service

RAINFALL: Tropical Storm Chris is expected to bring a total of 4 to 8 inches of rain to parts of eastern Mexico through Monday. In the higher areas of the Mexican states of Guanajuato, Querétaro and San Luis Potosí, a maximum rainfall of about 30 centimeters is possible. This rainfall will lead to flooding and mudslides in higher areas.
