Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh said in the latest edition of Talking about the tropics with Mike that Beryl is expected to become a Cat. 2 over the Central Caribbean as it turns more to the northwest over time… and is expected to become a hurricane for reaching the Lesser Antilles on Monday, July 1.

There does not appear to be any impacts to Jacksonville or Florida, although the storm is expected to weaken over the western or northwestern Caribbean later next week in an environment that *now* appears less favorable and there may be some land interaction.
