Dozens of Trump supporters gathered in Woodside on Wednesday, all hoping to get a look at vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance.
“I like JD a lot. I think he truly personifies the future of MAGA, and I was thrilled when President Trump chose him as his VP candidate,” said Trump supporter Doris Krischky.
Vance was in the Bay Area for a fundraiser. Many of the people gathered hoping to greet him said they wanted to make sure he and Trump had supporters on this issue, despite the region’s liberal reputation.
“We are Vietnamese for Trump from 2020 to now. We got them in the air full time and we went to San Francisco, both sides in San Francisco. We went to Sacramento. We went to everything for him,” said Trump supporter Ha Treu.
With less than a month until Election Day, the race for the White House remains tight. The Trump supporters CBS News Bay Area spoke to said they are hopeful but concerned.
‘Very nervous. I just don’t understand how people support this woman. She doesn’t… she hasn’t done anything. What has she done as vice president?” asked Trump supporter Jan George.
Many echoed that sentiment, saying they worry that Harris’ presidency will merely be a continuation of the Biden administration.
People here say they support Trump because they believe he will achieve more if he is elected president.
“Trump is a doer. He gets things done. Nobody likes the rhetoric, but he gets things done. Vance has a great story; a great person. He had a hard life and he made something of it,” Trump said- supporter Luke Aguilera.
