Donald Trump hinted he would extend his stay in the White House to a third term if he wins in November.
Speaking at the National Rifle Association (NRA) annual meeting in Dallas on Saturday, he said, “You know, FDR 16 years – almost 16 years – he was four terms. I don’t know, are we going to be? considered three terms?
Some members of the crowd shouted back, “Three!”
It was the ninth time the former president has addressed the US’s largest gun lobby, which includes some of Trump’s most ardent supporters and donors.
It is not the first time that Trump has hinted at a third term.
During the 2020 campaign, he told a rally in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, “We’re going to win for four more years. And then we go on for another four years because they spied on my campaign. redoing four years.”
But last month, in an interview with Time magazine. he seemed to backtrack on his desire for a third term.

“We are a nation that begs Venezuela and others for oil,” he continued. “We are a nation whose leaders demand all-electric cars, despite the fact that they don’t get very far…”
The music was likened to the anthem of QAnon – the conspiracy theory-led movement that makes baseless claims that Trump is fighting a deep state cabal of pedophiles.
Trump has leaned heavily on his support of QAnon in recent years.
The New York Times reported in September 2022 that music that sounded like a QAnon song had been played at a Trump rally in Youngstown, Ohio.
