At least 12 people were killed last night in an Israeli bombardment of a house in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, according to a local hospital.
Kamal Adwan Hospital said women and children were among the victims.
At least 10 people are buried under the rubble of the house, the hospital said.
The information could not be verified, but residents told dpa that they were awakened during the night by a massive explosion.
The Israeli army has not yet commented on the incident.
Eyewitnesses have described the humanitarian conditions in Jabalia as catastrophic.
The Israeli army launched a new offensive against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in the area in October as militants tried to regroup.
