MINNEAPOLIS – Patchy fog and mist early Thursday will give way to clouds as the Twin Cities dry out and warm ahead of a pleasant fall weekend.
Some moisture is retained at low levels, keeping the clouds in place throughout the day. The lack of sun will limit how much we warm up, with afternoon highs expected to reach around 48 degrees in the metro.
After some more fog sets in Friday, we should be able to squeeze out some more sunshine, with highs in the lower 50s, along with calm winds.
The weekend will remain dry despite a storm passing north of the metro, but we will see more winds with gusts up to 50 km per hour.
Warmth will peak in the mid-50s on Saturday before dropping slightly closer to 50 degrees on Sunday.
Our next substantial storm arrives late Monday through Tuesday, starting as rain with wind as well.
There are indications that the system is stalling after some colder air is drawn in, allowing a transition to snow showers in northern Minnesota, and possibly the metro.
