CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police are investigating two armed robberies and home invasions in Southwest Chicago.

The burglaries were reported only 15 minutes apart.

The first home invasion was reported around 1:25 a.m. in West Lawn. A man and a woman were in a car near 63rd Street and Kolin Avenue when two suspects approached.

The perpetrators first took the victims’ belongings and then followed the man and woman inside. According to the police, there was a gunfight inside before the suspects fled.

Officers found a firearm in the home.

Fifteen minutes later, a similar incident occurred near 59th Place and Spaulding Avenue in Chicago Lawn.

A 17-year-old boy got out of his car when two men with handguns got out of a black SUV and approached him. They asked for his belongings and then forced him into a home. The perpetrators stole more items from the home before leaving in a black SUV.

According to police, no one was injured in any of the incidents and no arrests have been made.
