Tewksbury police on Tuesday announced the arrests of two Lawrence residents facing several drug distribution and possession charges.
Angel Peguero-Mota, 22, and Mari Sousa, 44, of Lawrence are both facing:

Distribution of a class A drug

Distribution of a class B drug

Possession with intent to distribute a class A drug
-
Possession with intent to distribute a class B drug (two counts)
Sousa will be charged additional fees for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
The Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit was conducting an investigation in the area of Andover Street when they stopped a gray Subaru Crosstrek.
The occupants of the vehicle, Peguero-Mota and Sousa, were arrested without incident.
After their arrest, police searched Peguero-Mota and found a cell phone, approximately $305 in cash, a small bag containing a white rock-like substance later determined to be 8.8 grams of crack cocaine, two small baggies containing a white powdery substance, later determined to be 4.6 grams of cocaine, and a small bag containing a hard brown substance later determined to be 4.4 grams of fentanyl.
Officers also searched Sousa and found $20 in cash and an empty glass cylinder pipe.
Both individuals will be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Wednesday.
