MARTIN COUNTY – Two Broward County men are accused of shoplifting more than $3,000 worth of merchandise Wednesday evening, newly released law enforcement records show.
Frankys Estalella-Rodriguez, 28, and Lazaro Duanis Valdes, 26, were charged with shoplifting more than $3,000 worth of stolen goods from the Burlington Coat Factory in the 3200 block of Northwest Federal Highway in Jensen Beach, according to arrest affidavits filed by police of Martin County. Office.
The arrests occurred when a Martin County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a silver Nissan just north of the store and the car pulled into the parking lot of a nearby Olive Garden restaurant.
A search of the car revealed an abundance of clothing and wallets. The deputy spoke with the manager of Burlington Coat Factory, who identified the two men by their clothing and said surveillance video showed the pair stealing items from the store, the documents said.
The stolen items were seized and returned to Burlington Coat Factory.
Estalella-Rodriguez told investigators that he and Valdes had also visited the Burlington Coat Factory in Palm Beach County, but did not steal any items, according to an arrest affidavit.
The court documents do not indicate whether the two are represented by lawyers. They were both released from the Martin County Jail on Dec. 5 after posting $2,500 bail, records show.
