Two men have been arrested and charged in the Sept. 15 fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in Haltom City, police said in a news release Tuesday.
The victim, Raul Gonzalez, died at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth eight days after he was shot during the road rage incident in the 4400 block of East Belknap Road between 4:15 and 4:45 a.m.
Haltom City detectives, Fort Worth police and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force joined forces to identify the suspects, Jasue Moreno and Juan Perez, both 21, the release said.
Moreno was arrested at his workplace on Nov. 8 and is charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and fabricating physical evidence, police said.
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Perez was arrested in Fort Worth and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
“Starting with just a blurry image of the suspect vehicle, investigators began the arduous process of developing leads,” Haltom City police said. “Their determination and tireless efforts have paid off.”
The investigation remains ongoing and more arrests and charges could follow, police said.
