Three of the six South Dakota players on a baseball team made up of high school-age players charged as adults last summer with rape have pleaded guilty to a lesser offense.
Two former American Legion team members from Mitchell pleaded guilty Monday to aiding and abetting a crime, KELO-TV reported. Another player reached the same settlement earlier this month. All three could face up to five years in prison when sentenced in August.
Three other players charged as adults last August still face the original charges of second-degree rape and aiding and abetting second-degree rape. They have a status hearing on July 1.
Meanwhile, another three players were charged in juvenile court.
Prosecutors say the victims were 16 when they were sexually assaulted last June during a tournament in Rapid City.
