Los Angeles Police Department officers arrested a suspected shooting suspect in south Los Angeles on Monday evening.
It is unclear where and when the chase began.
As the chase continued, the suspect crashed at least twice, police said.
In one of the crashes, which occurred at 75th Street and Central Avenue, two LAPD officers were injured, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Both officers were taken to hospital after the accident. Their conditions were not immediately known.
With SkyCal overhead, the driver could be seen speeding through traffic lights and stop signs in the Vermont Square neighborhood, sometimes at speeds exceeding 50 miles per hour.
Police say one of the suspects threw something out the window of the car during the chase. It is unclear what the object was.
Suddenly, just before 9 p.m., the car came to a stop near S. Manhattan Place and W. 52nd Street, where the driver and two passengers surrendered to police.
As the arrests were taking place, a plume of smoke could be seen coming from the hood of the car.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been disclosed by investigators.
