Two officers suffered minor injuries Friday evening while pursuing a robbery suspect in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The shooting happened near 92nd Street and S. Central Avenue around 9 p.m. The two officers suffered minor injuries and were in stable condition, according to the LAPD’s Southeast Division, which patrols the area.
Investigators said the robbery victim also suffered a laceration to the head when a suspect pistol-whipped the person while trying to steal a bicycle.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said they took two people to the hospital.
The LAPD’s Southeast Division said the suspect was armed with a gun and began threatening people before the shooting occurred.
Officers established a search perimeter around the intersection, but did not immediately locate the two suspects associated with the case.
