Two people are dead after an early morning fire in Miami-Dade, authorities say

Two people died after a Brownsville home went up in flames early Friday morning, authorities said.

At approximately 3 a.m., first responders arrived to the 1900 block of NW 53rd St. after reports of a fire. Miami-Dade Fire Resuce arrived to extinguish the fire and was able to remove a man and a woman from the home.

The pair were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center, where they later died, police said.

Homicide and arson detectives are working on the case.
