Two people were killed in separate collisions in Lexington Monday evening, according to Lexington police.
The first collision happened at 5.55pm on Winchester Road, near Ashton Drive. Lexington Police Lt. Dillan Taylor said a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 43-year-old Angelina Wells of Lexington. She died from blunt force injuries, and her death was ruled an accident.
The driver remained at the scene and no charges are expected to be filed, Taylor said.
The second collision occurred at 11:10 p.m. at Richmond and Squires roads. According to Taylor, it was a collision involving a car and a moped.
The moped rider was killed in the accident and has not yet been identified pending notification from the family.
Police are looking for the vehicle that fled the scene.
According to Kentucky State Police data, there have been 28 fatal collisions in Lexington this year as of Nov. 7.
