(CBS-DETROIT) — A 48-year-old UAW supervisor was charged in connection with sexually assaulting a worker at a Ford plant in Sterling Heights.

Angelo Joseph Lupo is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree and one count of unlawful imprisonment. All charges carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

Officials allege that on August 26, 2024, Lupo lured a young female employee to his office, where he locked her in and sexually assaulted her.

Lupo was given a $50,000 bond. Upon release, he is no longer allowed to have contact with the victim and must surrender his passport.

“Our hearts go out to the victim, who showed tremendous courage in coming forward. Using a position of authority to exploit and harm another individual is a serious crime, and our office is committed to justice on her behalf to search,” the Macomb County Prosecutor said. Peter J. Lucido said in a statement.
