Uber passenger hospitalized after being struck by gunfire in San Fernando Valley neighborhood

A rideshare passenger was struck by gunfire Sunday as he was dropped off in North Hills, prompting a police investigation.

According to Los Angeles Police, it happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 9500 block of Columbus Avenue.

They say the Uber driver was delivering a fare when the vehicle was shot at. At least one bullet struck the female passenger in the right leg.

Police say the victim is in stable condition after being taken to a nearby hospital.

Investigators were unable to provide any information on a suspect or motive and have not yet announced any arrests in the case.
