Ukraine’s goals to produce long-range missiles and drones are “a reality today” after previously being in the realm of science fiction, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday in Kiev as he honored Ukrainian scientists.
He highlighted the Palianytsia jet-powered drone, which was reportedly first deployed in August. “The Palianytsia has gone into mass production,” Zelensky said.
He added that the Peklo rocket-drone hybrid had successfully carried out its first combat mission. The Ukrainian army officially received the first delivery of these devices with a range of 700 kilometers last week.
Zelensky also referred to successful tests of the Ruta missile. No details are available yet.
And he also mentioned the Neptune long-range missile used to sink the Russian cruiser Moskva in the Black Sea in April 2022, saying this would soon become a “terrible reality for the Russian occupiers.” The rocket has undergone further development.
