UNH student missing since last week

November 27 – Durham police are asking for help locating a University of New Hampshire student who has not been heard from since November 21, based on information from friends who last spoke to him.

Police say they do not believe there is foul play in the disappearance of Alexis Garcia.

Tuesday morning, police were asked to conduct a welfare check and Garcia’s vehicle, a black 2021 Mercedes, was located at the Scammell Bridge rest stop along Route 4.

Police determined the vehicle was parked there and unoccupied from 8:30 PM on Saturday until Tuesday morning, when it was secured by police.

Garcia is described as being 6 feet tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Garcia is originally from Illinois and has ties to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force ROTC.

Anyone with information can email Durham Police at detective@ci.durham.nh.us.
