Unidentified human remains found near the site of the annual Electric Forest festival

Human remains were discovered near the grounds of the Electric Forest festival earlier this week.

The remains were discovered in a wooded area near Rothbury, according to a report on X from the Michigan State Police Sixth District. The post also added that forensic anthropologists from Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine responded to the scene and assisted in the recovery.

No positive identification has been made at this time due to an ongoing autopsy and additional investigation, the post said.
