US hostage negotiator in Syria seeking answers about missing journalist

Roger Carstens, the Biden administration’s top official for freeing Americans held abroad, is in Syria on a risky mission: making the first known face-to-face contact with the caretaker administration and asking for help in finding missing American journalist Austin Tice.
