Vehicle crashes into house after crashing into pole in Washington County

A vehicle left extensive damage to a Washington County home after crashing into it.

Members of the Charleroi Fire Department said they were called to Arlington Avenue in Speers Borough Saturday evening after a vehicle struck a pole and then bounced off a nearby home.

When they arrived on scene, a woman was still trapped in the car. Firefighters were able to save her and say she was not injured.

Most of the damage occurred to the garage adjacent to the home. The vehicle also passed under a concrete patio which was displaced and appeared slightly out of place.

When the pole was struck, a power line was knocked loose, causing a power surge that set off an unrelated alarm at a nearby business, fire officials said.

The Charleroi police are investigating the cause of the accident.

No injuries have been reported.
