According to police, a female pedestrian was hit and killed in San Jose on Sunday evening.
Officers responded to the area of Snell Avenue and Capitol Expressway around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found a woman who had been struck by a vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
As of midnight, units were still on scene. The driver remained on scene and was cooperating with the investigation, San Jose police said.
Westbound Capitol Expressway from Seven Trees to Snell Avenue and eastbound Capitol Expressway from Vista Park to Snell Avenue remain closed. The entire intersection of Snell Avenue and Capital Expressway is closed and will remain closed for some time as officers investigate the collision, police said.
