‘Very concerning’; number of youth with guns in Dayton on the rise, police say

There have been 10 days of violence involving youths with weapons and young people who have been victims of gunfire.

As News Center 7 previously reported, seven people were shot in a drive-by shooting on Home Avenue.

Donna Zile, 22, and Jhakavion Casey, 18, were killed. Two 17-year-old women, two 18-year-old men and a 20-year-old woman were also injured in the shooting.

Police suspect the people in the two SUVs that drove by and started shooting are also very young.

News Center 7 obtained a Dayton police report showing an explosion of youths 17 and under being arrested with weapons.
