Tensions were high at the end of the Nate Diaz vs. press conference. Jorge Masvidal on Thursday in Anaheim, California, after Diaz declined another showdown with Masvidal.

Much like the April 19 press conference between the two former UFC starts, Diaz was in no mood to confront his opponent. As the press conference drew to a close, Diaz became increasingly irritated by the questions asked of him by host Brian Campbell.

“I’m done with this whole press conference shit,” Diaz said. “I’m glad we’re here to promote these great fights that are happening, which is cool as fuck, but you know what? Besides, I think my work here is done. I’m done with all these things. No more press conferences until my next fight. F*ck this ugly bastard. I hate to disrespect you (Campbell), but I’m also tired of seeing you. I am gone. Good to see everyone. Peace out. Shout out to Danny Jacobs and my son Chris Avila. Love, kick ass. I’ll see you all next time.”

Diaz rose from his seat and began walking off stage as organizers tried to corral him for a showdown with Masvidal.

“Step aside with yourself, motherfucker,” Diaz said after offering up a few quick poses of his own.

Masvidal objected and began following Diaz across the stage, who paused as they exchanged some heated words. Media and some fans began surrounding the fighters as they bickered, creating a tense scene.

Diaz eventually walked away, but tensions among others in the circle continued to rise. Soon the pushing started and punches were thrown with Masvidal in the middle of it.

Diaz and Masvidal will compete in a boxing match in a Fanmio pay-per-view headliner on July 6 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. It will be the second time the pair have met in combat sports, following their first meeting for the first BMF title fight at UFC 244 in November 2019.
