NEW YORK — Surveillance footage shows the moment a gunman opened fire on a busy barbershop in the Bronx earlier this month.
According to police, the incident happened around 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 1 at the corner of University Avenue and Burnside Avenue in the University Heights neighborhood.

The shooting was captured by multiple surveillance cameras.
Video footage from outside the store shows a man getting off what appears to be a scooter or motorcycle parked on the sidewalk. The man walks to the front of the barbershop and pulls a gun from the front waistband of his pants. He then fires approximately three rounds into the front glass window and door of the store before running away.
Surveillance footage from inside the store shows customers and employees diving to the floor. At least a dozen people, including children, were inside at the time of the shooting.
Video footage taken after the shooting showed at least two bullet holes in the store’s window and another bullet hole in the glass door.
Fortunately, no one was hit by the bullets. A 31-year-old man was hit by glass shards and was treated on the spot for cuts.
Shooter wanted in Bronx barbershop shooting
Employees at the barbershop told CBS News New York they did not recognize the shooter and do not know why he started shooting.
“We were working and the two guys came on the motorcycle and they shot into the barbershop, inside the barbershop. We hope the police do the work and catch those people because it is a danger to another person outside,” said one worker.
No arrests have been made and police have not yet identified the suspect.
The investigation is still ongoing.
