Power outages are expected in the Fort Myers area and Lee County as Hurricane Helene moves across Florida.
Helene became a hurricane on Wednesday and is expected to strengthen to a Category 3 storm before making landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in 61 Florida counties and urged all residents to be prepared.
