MINNEAPOLIS — On Wednesday, clouds will lift and warmer air will flow into the Twin Cities.
It is dry and slightly humid, with a maximum temperature of around 29 degrees.
Unfortunately for all the outdoor festivities planned, the Fourth of July forecast is much wetter. A low pressure system will spread showers and storms across the southern half of the state. That system will move in from the southwest beginning this morning, showering the Twin Cities with showers by the afternoon. Another cluster will arrive later this evening, bringing stronger storms to metro, southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Keep an eye on changes fireworks shows.
Periods of heavy rain will continue into Friday, although there should be some dry time later in the day. Temperatures will drop into the 70s to close out the work week.
The weekend should bring more dry time, although Saturday could be wet. Highs will rise to the 80s and stay there until early next week.
