Watch as thieves ambush Hellcat in owner’s driveway

Creepy surveillance video footage of an attempted carjacking targeting a Dodge Charger Hellcat shows just how far things have gone lately. We used to only see images like this from Brazil and other countries with serious crime problems. Now it is becoming common in the US.

The gear lever stops Porsche carjackers.

In the images we shared, you see the Hellcat driving into the driveway, presumably to drive into the garage. But before the owner can do that, a black Camaro tries to block his rearward escape, while another man steps out of a parked GMC Sierra in front of the next house.

As the Camaro moves closer to block the Hellcat as its owner tries to back up and escape the trap, the man shines a flashlight that may be attached to a firearm from the truck. Some believe this accomplice fired at least one bullet as the Camaro and Hellcat made contact and the Mopar sped its way to freedom.

As the Camaro drives onto the street, another Charger appears, so these thieves likely had three vehicles coordinating the carjacking. This is a common tactic to keep another vehicle in reserve and unseen while others try to corner a victim.

Luckily, this Hellcat owner stayed tuned and got out of there quickly, although he was a little slow on the uptake at first, probably due to shock. We share this video not to criticize it, but to inform others. If someone pulls into your driveway right after you drive in, don’t hesitate and get out of there quickly.

These types of calculated carjacking traps at owners’ homes are becoming more and more common, so always look around when you leave and arrive at your home.
