Despite the record temperatures that Bay Area residents have been living in all week, the heat couldn’t stop Karl the Fog from making his annual visit on July 4, partially overshadowing the fireworks spectacle in San Francisco.
There were predictions — even from Karl’s own X social media account — that the fog would hold off during the scorching heat wave. However, well before sunset, a bank of fog was seen making its way toward the Golden Gate Bridge and under its span.
But eventually the fog made itself clearly visible.
Despite the somewhat blurred view for those on the ground, the show was much more visible than in years past. The full show can be viewed in the player above.
